Casey Neistat; Do More
Casey has proven over and over again that hard work will take you where you want to go in life. His hope in me gave the courage I needed to start doing something new. Blogging, Vlogging, Creating!
As a guiding principle, life shrinks and life expands in direct proportion to your willingness to assume risk. -Casey
His platform on YouTube touches the lives of millions every single day. What he does there is inspires others to never limit themselves. It’s not about beauty or talent. It’s about hard work and how much you’re willing to risk. If you’re willing to do more than the competition, you’ll come out on the top in the end or die trying.
If the reason why you’re doing anything creative is to make a living, then you’re doing it wrong. -Casey
MerelyMelina was started out of inspiration from Casey. He let me know “The right time is always right now.” and I’ll never regret my decision to start.
Casey, you’re the man.
Liza Koshi; Just be you
Liza is “A little brown girl with big dreams” and also a Creator on the platform of YouTube. She has successfully grown a following of over 45,000,000 in a few years time and uses her platform to spread positivity.
But we try coming to this perfection by copying others…then I be perfect. NO…Just be you, be you. -Liza
Liza stands up for the people afraid to stand up for themselves. Because of her influence, I want to inspire other young women to stand up for what they believe.
Peter has had so many jobs over the years, but he believes they shape you into who you want to be. In trying to find his path, he’s done everything from washing elephants (yes), working retail, and quitting Apple after 4 hours. What does that teach you? To be resilient.
Here’s a guy who worked his whole life finding his passion. After 18 years of working for others, he’s now working for himself as a YouTuber. WOW!
“The experiences you have when doing this craft are as unique as the craft itself.” -Peter
I can relate to Peter because of the random(ness) of his resume. I’ve worked since the age of 12 on finding what it is I wanted to do with my life and found my calling at the age of 16.
From there, I started building my Website, buying camera equipment, and learning how to create content! I’m on my way to working my dream job, and Peter McKinnon is my biggest influence to be resilient till I get there.
April Geotsch; Look for the common mercies
April was diagnosed with cancer in 2005. On that very day, she began journaling about the common mercies in her life. Things like coffee, books, the ability to read, clean sheet, and dark chocolate were listed in those pages of common mercies.
A reminder that life doesn’t just come with stuff, that everything in life is a ‘God thing’, and that I have the opportunity every single day to praise Him for it. -April
She uses the same practice of journaling through her fight with Multiple Sclerosis, and now has a public platform to share her story with others.
When I began to fill more pages of that journal, gratitude once again started to overwhelm me. -Aprl
Thanks to April, I look at the common mercies God has provided me. I want to do more with the talents, gifts, and people He has placed in my life.
Matthew Kepnes; Travel changes you
Matt started a blog in 2008 and used his platform to write about traveling around the world. He is now a New York Times bestseller for cheap travel and inspires others to hit the road.
One of those people inspired was me! I took what he said to heart, packed up my life, and hit the road. That trip changed my life and made me a more well-rounded person.
After accomplishing so much, you’re going to feel a lot more confident in your ability to achieve anything you set your mind to. -Nomadic Matt
He helped me to start MerelyMelina in 2017, and I began inspiring others to do more with their lives. Because of his influence, I made travel an important part of my life, and it made me a better person.
These are only a few people who have molded me into who I am today. With their influence, I’ve taken risks and seen success. My only dream now is to be an influencer for somebody else like they are to me.
Till Next Time,
